Grasmere Primary Wins Debate at Eisteddfod

Lachlan Nicholson, Lucas Kidd and Taylah Cook participated in their first and the schools first ever Debating Eisteddfod on  Monday 27th of April and were thrilled to be the winner of their debate. They were up against a very strong and well drilled team from Merrivale Primary School debating the topic ‘that dogs are better pets than cats’. Grasmere had the affirmative team and they spoke about the various roles of dogs in society and how although they were great pets, they also have many other roles in the community which Scarface Claw the serial killer and sometimes feral cat, does not!!
The school is very proud of these three individuals and hope they are keen to pursue similar challenges in the future. Next year Grasmere may have two teams in the competition. Well done to all!!

Well done team, nothing but impressed by people who can stand up and debate. Good luck to the parents also for the years to come – what have you started :-)
